The second gold medal for Bulgaria also came in the team competition, where our national team consisting of Ilia Iliev, Zdravko Varbanov and Dimitar Todorov deservedly won the European title in the junior skeet discipline. The Bulgarian competitors demonstrated excellent preparation, concentration and team spirit, finishing with a total score of 196 points and leaving behind the strong teams of France and Poland. The other Bulgarian nationals also recorded a decent performance: • Zdravko Varbanov – 10th place in the individual skeet competition among juniors; • Dimitar Todorov – 18th place in the individual skeet competition among juniors; • Angela Rangelova – 10th place in U-18 skeet for girls; • Marin Iliev – 36th place in U-18 trap among juniors; • Teodora Yakova – 21st place in U-18 girls' trap. On the occasion of the impressive performance, the chairman of the Bulgarian trap, double trap and skeet federation Iliya Kirilov said: "This success is a reason for great pride for Bulgarian shooting, and the results are proof that Bulgaria has an extremely talented young generation of athletes. That is why the main focus of the federation's work is the development of the children's and youth school and the building of the future champions of Bulgaria. Success in Osijek is the result of perseverance, discipline, professional training and purposeful work with young talents. I am convinced that this is only the beginning of even greater successes for Bulgaria on the international stage." This significant achievement is the result of the hard work of the competitors, the coaching team and everyone who works daily for the development of Bulgarian sports shooting.
