NUNS reminds that such messages represent an open threat of violence and an attempt at intimidation, the aim of which is to discourage journalists, silence them or force them to self-censor. Although the first threat has since been deleted - it was reported to the Prosecutor's Office for High-Tech Crime. NUNS expects that the competent prosecution will conduct an adequate investigation and in the shortest possible time identify and process the persons behind the mentioned orders, it was announced. "We also remind that effective action by institutions is key to combating impunity, which encourages new threats and attacks on journalists and the media. Impunity contributes to the creation of an atmosphere in which violence against journalists is normalized and becomes "acceptable" in the public space," the statement added.
