Director Aaron Sorkin says Jeremy Strong stayed in character as Mark Zuckerberg throughout the filming of his upcoming movie, 'The Social Reckoning'.

Director Aaron Sorkin revealed that actor Jeremy Strong maintained his character as Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg during the entire production of the upcoming film 'The Social Reckoning.' Sorkin explained that Strong, known for his method acting, did not walk or speak in his own voice while on set. To prepare the cast, Sorkin warned them that Strong would not socialize between takes and would treat them as he imagined Zuckerberg would treat those around him.

Method Acting and Cast Dynamics

Sorkin noted that Strong performed extensive preparation before arriving on set. During filming, the actor avoided casual interactions with his co-stars, including Bill Burr, Betty Gilpin, Billy Magnussen, and Mikey Madison. Sorkin stated that while the process was intense, he believes the results justify the approach. Strong also confirmed he sent an email to Zuckerberg prior to filming, expressing that he took the responsibility of the portrayal seriously.

Production and Legal Oversight

The film, which premieres on October 9, follows the story of whistleblower Frances Haugen and Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz as they expose internal Facebook documents. Sorkin reported that the studio, Sony, hired an outside law firm to conduct a rigorous legal vetting process to ensure all facts presented in the film are accurate. Sorkin also noted that Meta representatives reached out to the studio regarding the project.
