Apple TV has officially renewed its espionage drama series Slow Horses for an eighth season. The announcement follows the show’s recent Emmy win for outstanding directing in a drama series, awarded to Saul Metzstein. Production for the upcoming season is scheduled to begin shortly.

The eighth season will consist of six episodes and is adapted from Clown Town, the ninth novel in Mick Herron’s Slough House book series. The plot will center on an explosive confrontation between Jackson Lamb, played by Gary Oldman, and Diana Taverner, played by Kristin Scott Thomas. The narrative follows a botched attempt to blackmail the Park, which forces Taverner on the offensive and leads Lamb to uncover a significant MI5 secret. Adam Randall is set to return as director for the eighth season. The series is produced by See-Saw Films, which is part of the Mediawan group.
