Marianela Núñez, a principal dancer with the Royal Ballet for 28 years, is preparing to perform her own show, titled Timeless, at the Royal Opera House. The 44-year-old dancer, who moved to England from Buenos Aires at age 15, has selected a program featuring partners including Vadim Muntagirov, Matthew Ball, William Bracewell, and Patricio Revé. The performances are scheduled to take place from July 29 to August 2.

Career and Artistic Approach

Núñez began her professional training early, dancing leading roles at Buenos Aires’ Teatro Colón by age 14 and becoming a principal dancer at 20. Unlike many of her peers, she has navigated her career without an agent, a choice she attributes to the influence of the late dancer Sylvie Guillem. She describes her daily ballet class as a vital ritual and a "safety net" that sustains her passion for the art form.

For her upcoming show, Núñez has curated a repertoire that includes Jerome Robbins’ In the Night and Frederick Ashton’s Marguerite and Armand. She selected her partners based on their ability to provide confidence and encourage her to take risks on stage. Despite the demanding nature of her profession, Núñez emphasizes that she has no plans to retire, stating that there is "no expiry date" for her career.
