Energy Infrastructure and Strikes

A central focus of the discussions was the mutual targeting of energy infrastructure. Trump has repeatedly expressed concern that Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries are driving up global diesel prices. Following the meeting, Zelensky proposed a reciprocal ceasefire on energy infrastructure attacks, stating that if both sides cease such strikes, the proposal would be honored. Zelensky noted that the U.S. would convey this position to Russia. Previous U.S.-mediated efforts to secure an energy truce had stalled, with reports indicating that earlier claims of an agreement were premature. Regarding the broader conflict, Zelensky expressed hope that the war could be concluded before winter.
