The Kirishi Petroleum Organic Synthesis plant in Leningrad Oblast caught fire following a reported drone strike, while eyewitnesses in the town of Yeysk reported strong explosions at a local airbase.

Refinery and Airbase Strikes

Leningrad Oblast Governor Aleksandr Drozdenko confirmed that a drone crash occurred near the Kirishi refinery, resulting in a fire, and noted that 42 drones were intercepted over the region. The Kirishi facility, also known as the Kinef plant, is one of Russia's largest oil refineries and is currently subject to Western sanctions, including measures imposed by the United States. Simultaneously, reports emerged of explosions at an airbase in Yeysk, located in Krasnodar Krai.

Recent Operations in Rostov and Occupied Territories

These strikes follow a series of operations conducted on Aug. 29. On that night, Ukrainian forces struck a warehouse owned by the e-commerce company Ozon in Rostov-on-Don. Additionally, the General Staff reported that Ukrainian forces targeted Russian military sites in occupied territories, specifically facilities used for storing and launching attack drones in Donetsk and the village of Hvardiiske near Simferopol in occupied Crimea.
