Bottega Veneta unveiled its Spring 2027 ready-to-wear collection on Saturday in a minimalist, white-lit venue decorated with rows of crushed cardboard boxes and leather-crafted parrot tulips. Creative director Louise Trotter shifted the brand's focus toward lighter, more wearable silhouettes, moving away from the heavier designs that characterized her previous two runway collections. Focus on Craft and Lightness

Trotter described the collection as an exploration of the transition between seasons, specifically the shift from winter protection to the lightness of spring and summer. To achieve this, she utilized crisp fabrics, airy lace, and crochet, drawing inspiration from traditional knitting and stitching techniques found in the Venice region. The collection featured fringe detailing on skirts, scarves, and bags, alongside the brand's signature woven leather, or intrecciato, which appeared in accessories and garments.

Design Evolution and Styling

The runway presentation showcased a mix of polished and organic aesthetics. While some pieces maintained a structured, tailored look, others embraced a sense of being 'undone,' including shirts styled to reveal undergarments. The color palette introduced vibrant pastels, such as lilac and butter yellow, alongside electric shades of red. Menswear was also refined, appearing trimmer and more bohemian compared to previous seasons. Accessories remained a focal point, with earrings sculpted from clay or woven from leather, often worn in mismatched pairs.
