The complainant, who was 20 at the time, alleged that the encounter turned violent and that Barrientos ignored her pleas to stop. Barrientos testified that he had consensual sex with the woman after meeting her at the concert venue, claiming the "vibes were good" between them.

Legal Proceedings and Next Steps

While Barrientos was found guilty of two assault charges, his sentencing for those offenses is deferred until after the retrial. The prosecution confirmed that the complainant is willing to provide evidence again. Barrientos is scheduled to appear in court on 27 August for an application to vary his bail, though a date for the retrial has not yet been determined.
