Iranian officials have threatened the safety of regional energy infrastructure and touted new weapons development, while calling for the withdrawal of U.S. forces from the Middle East.

Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned on Tuesday that if Iran is prevented from exporting oil, no other nation in the region will be able to do so. The statement followed comments from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which claimed it is mass-producing new weapons and demanded the departure of U.S. forces from the Middle East.

Threats to Regional Infrastructure

Ghalibaf stated that Iran’s security must be guaranteed, warning that if it is not, regional infrastructure will not remain safe. He cautioned the U.S. against making what he termed "miscalculations," asserting that the Iranian nation would deliver "heavy blows" if threatened by blockades.

IRGC Weapons and U.S. Relations

IRGC spokesperson Hossein Mohebi, also referred to as Hossein Mohebbi, stated that Iran is continuously designing, upgrading, and mass-producing armaments for defense. He asserted that if confrontations escalate, the military is prepared to deploy new weapons. Mohebi further characterized U.S. military bases as the primary source of regional insecurity and labeled U.S. President Donald Trump a "big liar" regarding nuclear and military claims.

Nuclear and Diplomatic Status

Mohebi dismissed reports suggesting Iran is weeks away from developing a nuclear weapon, describing such claims as long-standing propaganda. Meanwhile, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has not reached an agreement with Tehran regarding the return of inspectors or the resumption of monitoring. Diplomatic relations remain strained, with UAE officials noting that trust damaged by recent attacks in the Gulf will take years to rebuild.
