Actress Maisie Williams is drawing inspiration from co-star Sandra Bullock’s archival fashion for the promotional tour of their upcoming film, Practical Magic 2.

As the film Practical Magic 2 prepares for its September 11 release, actress Maisie Williams has begun her promotional tour by honoring her co-star, Sandra Bullock, through her red carpet fashion. Williams, who plays Bullock’s daughter in the sequel, has collaborated with stylist Dino Bonačić to curate looks directly inspired by Bullock’s past outfits. The actress describes the process as a way to celebrate 1990s fashion while paying homage to her co-star’s personal style history.

Red Carpet Homage in London

For the London premiere, Williams wore a custom red two-piece set by Ellie Misner, which was modeled after an outfit Bullock wore to the 1999 premiere of Forces of Nature. To modernize the look, Williams replaced the original cotton tee with a corset and accessorized with Bvlgari rubellite jewelry, Christian Louboutin shoes, and a Roger Vivier bag. Williams noted that she kept the inspiration a surprise, which led to a positive reaction from Bullock when she realized the reference.

Utilizing the Bullock Archive

For a London photo call, Williams wore an actual black, off-the-shoulder gown previously worn by Bullock to the 2006 premiere of the film Infamous. The dress, which lacks an interior designer label, was adapted to Williams’s frame by tailor Irene. To update the vintage piece, Williams added vintage brooches, a silver Simuero choker, and moon-themed earrings from Awe Inspired. Williams stated that the process of raiding Bullock’s style history allowed her to blend her own personal aesthetic with a 'soft witchy vibe' suitable for the film's theme.
