After the 1998 release of the original film, the sequel Practical Magic 2 arrived in theaters on September 10, 2026. The new installment features Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman reprising their roles as the Owens sisters, alongside Joey King and Maisie Williams, who play their daughters.

Potential for a Third Installment

While no official plans for a third movie exist, Sandra Bullock has indicated she would be open to the project depending on the box office performance of the second film. In a September 2026 interview with Vanity Fair, Bullock stated that a third film would likely focus on the characters played by King and Williams, Antonia and Kylie Owens, rather than the original leads.

Cast Perspectives on the Franchise

In a joint interview with The New York Times, Bullock and Kidman expressed that the story warrants a third film. Kidman mentioned that the second movie was limited by its length, noting that there were many narrative tangents the production could have explored. Bullock added that the necessary material for a third installment is available.
