Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's travel to Norway was marked by a drone alert in Moldova, with conflicting reports on the proximity of the aircraft to the devices.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s plane was reportedly nearly struck by a drone while departing Moldova on Tuesday. Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere stated the aircraft was nearly hit, while Moldovan government officials reported the departure was delayed due to an airspace closure following a drone alert.

Airspace Disruptions in Moldova

On Tuesday, Chisinau Airport suspended operations as two Russian drones entered Moldovan airspace. According to flight tracking data, multiple flights were diverted or placed in holding patterns. One drone reportedly landed in a field and caused a fire, while a second drone continued into Romanian airspace. Moldovan President Maia Sandu condemned the intrusions as a threat to public safety.

Zelenskyy's Visit to Norway

Following the departure from Moldova, President Zelenskyy arrived in Norway to attend the funeral of King Harald V on Wednesday. During his visit, he participated in a procession in Oslo and held discussions with Prime Minister Stoere regarding Ukraine's air defense. Zelenskyy also engaged with companies involved in the Freyja initiative, which aims to develop a European anti-ballistic missile system.
